Iran ranks 7th in world in nano-science production

Iran started initial steps in 2000 and could stand 59th in the world publishing 8 articles in Nano-technology, he said, adding the country now ranks first in the Islamic World and the region.

Sarkar further noted that last year the country could stand the 8th in the world with 4580 articles, and this year it has improved its rank to the 7th.


The Islamic Republic established the INIC in 2003 to promote the nation’s international ranking among the countries enjoying cutting-edge Nanotechnology.


Iran has made considerable growth in Nanotechnology over the recent years and the country produces a wide range of Nano-materials.


In late January, Iran unveiled eight new indigenous Nano-products with carbon structure, which are used in the oil industry.


Nanotechnology is believed to be able to create many new materials and devices with a vast range of applications, such as in medicine, electronics, biomaterials and energy production.
